DiscoverBangalore
is pleased
to feature Shri. R.G. Rao, a very noted Nadi Astropalmist, a teacher, a
Harikatha artist, all rolled in one. Sandhya Prabhakar met Mr. Rao at his residence
recently writes about Mr. Rao and tells the DiscoverBangalore visitors more about
this cheerful committed Bangalorean.

When you meet this
genial unassuming gentleman at his home, you are struck by his simplicity and
passion for Nadi astrology. A teacher, a harikatha artist and a well known astrologer,
Sri. R. G Rao was born in 1938 and began his journey into the world of Astrology
with the divine blessings of Sri. Balakrishna Sadhu of Thrayambaka Mutt in Northern
India. He has undertaken extensive work in the Nadi System of Astrology after
getting Original Nadi Granthas from Tamilnadu. His in-depth research led him to
deduce precise formulae behind nadi predictions. Nadi principles which used to
be passed on as private property from generation to generation and for centuries
remained out of reach of multitude of astrologers was later published by him for
the entire world. His well known books include, 'Samudrika Sudha', 'Transit of
planets on thy Birth chart', 'Profession from the position of Planets', 'Kashyapa
Hora' and many others. He has conducted classes in Nadi System of Astrology and
has clients from all over the world. When he convened the "The world Convention
of Vedic astrology in 1998, he was conferred with the title "Vijnanika Nadi
Shastra Praveena". When asked how in these days of advanced science
and technology, could one seriously take astrological predictions, he is quick
to point out that an 'Astro palmist' who reads the 'Rekhas' through Nadi shastra
cannot fail because the rekhas are formulated naturally at the time of birth;
if an astropalmist fails it is only because of his/her inefficiency and not because
of incorrect data. He believes that Nadi shastra is a fully doctrinated science
and any keen student with a spiritual bent of mind can learn this science. He
feels that although the palm leaf astrologers of Tamilnadu can stun the client
by reeling off exact details such as name, parents name etc., they lack chronological
exactness. Besides intuitions are also important to grasps the minor demarcations.
"But aren't predictions scary?" Rao observes that predictions can become
scary when fakes and imposters pick at the inner fears of clients and make a fast
buck by playing on human psychology. But with such things the mind can never be
at peace; only interpretations with a logical base can be a guiding factor in
the lives of clients. Sri. R.G. Rao has been in this field for the last
50 years. Thousands of clients have drawn solace from his predictions. The fact
that more than 75% of the his clients have come back to him for further guidance
is proof of his authenticity. Despite all predictions there is indeed such a thing
as divine intervention because events first occur in the astral plane and only
after 72 hours do they manifest in the physical plane. If there is true devotion,
it is possible to alter or prevent events in the physical plane that are harmful
like accidents, sickness etc., explains Rao. His busy schedule not withstanding,
his favorite pastime is to translate and sing famous songs from carnatic music
into English with child like enthusiasm. He hums "Ambiga naa ninna nambidhe
"
in English thus "My trust on thy fate, O boat man
. Save restlessness
life of the layman!" Our deep appreciation to this cheerful committed
Bangalorean who predicts an excellent future for Bangalore in the next decade-
if it can only watch out on terrorists and mindless and lop-sided development
of the city, that is. Is someone listening?! Sandhya
