Bangalore losing all its greenery. Can we save it ? | |
We thank all our visitors for their valueable feedback. B.S.Manjunath for Bangalore writes "I very much agree with the fact that Bangalore is losing its greenery at the cost of development. Most of the People & Government are just concerned with making of money. They are not worried about future of our environment. Our planning should be such that we should try at the most not to destroy trees. Also we the citizens should take up the responsilbilty of planting trees. Socities & houses should have provison for planting trees. In fact if a plan of a house or Society does not have provison for planting trees then it should not be approved. Sunil Baindur from Bangalore writes - Dear Nature lovers, It\'s a though thing to do but in the long run it will only benefit us..or at least our children...they are the future. Today, the kids are more exposed to trees being cut down as they drive on the roads of Bengaluru. How about involving them into planting trees also? Nature conservation , civic hygiene ,nature walks, car pool, visit the parks more often than a mall, take a drive to a near by village, rain water harvesting, supporting eco groups and N.G.O\'s..etc...lend a helping hand to the people who are making an effort for our dear planet earth....lets give something back to nature friends...that’s all! Rest is all up to you. Please spread the awareness to save the nature around us and make a big difference. Om Sai Ram. B K Harish Kumar from
Vijayanagar, Bengaluru - Hi 2 all, Sathya
B G from Bangalore writes - Its really sad how bangalores climate has changed
from almost being like a hill station climate to the climate like a dry desert.
I have been in this city for 15yrs now and i see the drastic change. Note from DiscoverBangalore - Thanks Mr. Sathya for your thoughts. DiscoverBangalore would be pleased to support your dream by giving you or any organization the required publicity to bring back our Original Garden City. There are a couple of organizations like Hasiru Hasiru and Cubbon Park Mithra Sangha who are working in this direction and you could become a part of them. H R Umadevi from Bangalore - Rows of trees are planted by BMP. But the same is not maintained by them .so when it grows high till electric wire ,KEB will cut only one side of the tree. This will be repeated whenever tree grows. Since only one side of the tree is always cut other side will grow heavily and tree bend towards other side .When this process is repeated tree will looses its balance and will tumble down. This is the fate of all Bangalore trees which are on the side of the electric wire. we as Bangalorians should be more responsible towards the environment as we are the one who has to live here. If Bangalore trees are to be protected it should be maintained by B.M.P.Branches of the tree are to be cut on all sides and tree should trimmed .so that equilibrium will be maintained tree will be protected. Kader Velu from Bangalore - 1)the trees that are being planted is too small for it to adjust in this enviroment i mean here is that the trees that are planted should be atleast six feet tall. i want few trees to be planted by the forest department in our layout, there are no trees here any where planted, all the trees should be atleast six feet tall because there are more cows here.i Think atleast 15-20 trees can be planted. i don\'t no how this can be done please help me. my
address is. Prasanna Hunswadker from Bangalore writes: Wishes to all for New year. I am proud to be a bangalore citizen with best of my health due to bangalaore\'s lovely climate. However I found tremendous difference in the city from past a year. Its not only due to increasing traffic or industralisation.Infact more chopping of trees in the midst of city. An instance today i was on the way to my office on Golf course road and noticed almost 30-40 trees almost 100 years older cut down to death for road widening. This being the neighbourhood to CM\' residence. Its really depressing to see exploitation of nature like this. This would not only affect humans in the city but would affect the land as well. We cant save our nature just by sending mails.Taking out road shows or rallys on environment day.We should spread awareness with planting trees wherever possible. Trees
raise real estate value,Trees save energy,Trees improve water quality,Trees clean
the air. Sunil
Kumar from Bangalore - Bengaloorean's must follow some policies, such as planting
a single tree infront of their house. We need to maintain greenery as much as
psssible. This is our "Birth Right as a Bengaloorean".
